How to Change Lock Setting on Honeywell Thermostat

The Honeywell T6 thermostat allows you to enable security lock settings requiring users to enter a four-digit password to make changes. These settings on your Honeywell Thermostat can be used to prevent unauthorized changes to system settings.


Enabling Lock Security on Honeywell Thermostats

  1. Tap the Menu button on your Honeywell thermostat until you reach Screen Lock
  2. Tap Select
  3. Choose the Lock Option you wish to use:
    1. Select Unlocked if you want to allow unrestricted access to thermostat settings
    2. Select Partial Locked if you want to enable other users to change only the temperature
    3. Select Fully Locked if you want to restrict access to thermostat settings completely
  4. The screen will display the PIN code that will be used to unlock the thermostat moving forward
  5. Tap Select
  6. Tap Yes to confirm the lock settings


Disableing Lock Security on Honeywell Thermostats

  • Press the Menu button
  • Use the right arrow to navigate to the "LOCK" menu
  • Select "OFF" to disable PIN protection


Default Unlock Code - Honeywell Thermostat

  • Pull the thermostat off the wall, and find the 4 digit date code on the back of the thermostat
  • Add 1234 to the date code, so for example 6014 + 1234, master code would be 7248
  • Use this default if the master code programmed was forgotten
